Waiting a day in Grand Marais proved to be a wise decision. Yesterday the water was calm and flat with only the remnants of the swells from the winds of the day before. The run back into the Soo was uneventful. We came back through the Canadian lock with a tour boat, two PWC’s, and two small day-tripper boats. The George Kemp marina folks had the slip we were in previously waiting for us. The marina was filled with more boats than when we had departed. Some of the group included Loopers going into Lake Superior. It was fun to exchange stories and give one another updates on towns, harbors and anchorages.

Our move forward in the coming days are subject to a couple of incoming weather fronts. But right now it’s warm and summer like. Next move will be to Cheboygan for routine maintenance.
