We had a nice couple of days in Sheboygan, too cold but enjoyed the city. We had three good meals on the town, got our haircut, and did laundry: not bad for just a stop! We had dinner at Lino’s Thursday night - outstanding! Everything is made daily, and the pasta was incredibly good. Last night we ate at the Duke of Devon, a British style pub. The Admiral had a tremendous burger, and I had a very nicely prepared salmon.

Today we were underway by 0930 and in Racine around 1400 hrs. Sea conditions were good even though they were a little weird. Weird in the respect that we had a trailing sea swell of about a foot or so with a five second duration but also had a 1’ chop coming at us from the south, southeast, and then southwest. Go figure! Fuel burn was about 25 gph for about 100 gal overall. It’s supposed to be a rainy day tomorrow and according to the weatherman, a good day for staying inside and watching football. We’ll see.

We’re at Reef Point Marina just off the inlet from the lake. This is a large marina, probably the largest we’ve seen since leaving Florida. The marina has a swimming pool and hot tubs and a lot of boats. Locals are trying to eek out the last few days of summer. We’ll be joining some dock mates for dinner tonight and will report later. Air temp was in the low 80’s; water temp ranged from 54’ - 65’.

Local intel say we should stay at DuSable Marina or Chicago Yacht Club while in Chicago. We’ll be making reservations tomorrow and hope to travel Monday but the weather picture does not look good at this time so maybe it will be Tuesday or Wednesday.
