Our departure from ATL has been postponed a couple of days to due a tropical weather disturbance coming up from the Gulf of Mexico. Rain in excess of 4 inches has been predicted in the TN, MS, AL area where the boat is located and where we are to travel so we decided to stay home for a couple more days and wait it out. We'll be heading to Iuka, MS tomorrow morning and plan to depart Aqua Harbor marina sometime Monday morning. Our first day destination has been moved a bit eastward because we must travel under a railroad lift bridge that is being repair and is restricting river traffic between 1700 hr to 0700 hr. In other words, the river is closed to boating traffic during most of the daylight hours! Going under the bridge in a "closed position" is not an option because clearance at normal pool is 10 feet! If you want to see a picture of this bridge refer to our photo dated March 3, 2018. We had to hold our position there until a train passed!

All I know is the final 260 miles have been very challenging! Just get us home safe and sound!

Since we've been off the boat for slightly more than 2 weeks, we'll need to re-provision or at least check to make sure we have food for a few days. The boating season is drawing to a close and restaurants at marinas are keeping only weekend hours. In the meantime, bills have been paid, doctors have been visited (all good results!), Thanksgiving plans have been finalized, and life goes on. BTW, Mom is continuing to hold her own. I've talked to her a couple of times. Her mobility is significantly restricted but her vital signs are good and strong.

We anxious to return to the boat. I'm anxious to check out all of the work that's been done. We have 2 good travel days this week - Monday and Tuesday; Wednesday begins more heavy rain. Go figure - the southeast has been in a drought until we return!
