After spending a down day in Bobcaygeon we were back on the water this AM. Today we patiently motored our way through the narrowest of channels and shallowest of waters yet. This leg is definitely not for the timid. You either make the move or not. Cruise speed ranged from full cruise speed (24 mph) to idle speed (<5 mph). We saw open water with 7-foot depths to narrows with 4.2 feet to 70 feet depths. One cannot afford to miss a channel marker here nor forget to take in the beautiful landscape. We’re told the scenery only gets better!

Went through another lift lock similar to the Peterborough lift lock. I continue to marvel at engineering accomplishments. Tonight, we’re at a river side marina and will move ahead tomorrow to Orillia, about 20 miles west and north from here. After that we’re into Port Severn, and then Georgian Bay. Still haven’t determined where we’ll re-enter the US.

I can tell you the US Customs and Border Patrol app works perfectly well. Last night when I thought I was setting up our profile for re-entry, I received a call from CBP in Sault Sainte Marie, MI! The customs officer informed me that I’m in the middle of Ontario and can’t possibly be re-entering the US! I explained to him what I was doing, and he said no problem; he’ll hear from me in a few days.
