Well, we made it! After almost two years without serious cruising, the Admiral and I decided to take a trip farther up the TN River. Today we traveled about 70 miles up river into Watts Bar Lake. It has been a beautiful early fall day that we long for each year. After seven consecutive days of rain, skies have finally cleared and ushered in low humidity and total sunshine! We departed Gold Point Marina about 0930 hrs and arrived in Blue Springs about 1500 hrs. Although we saw bass boats along the way, we only saw two pleasure crafts - both down bound. We’ll spend the night here at the Blue Springs Marina and head to Fort London tomorrow- about a 55 mile run. From there we’ll go into the Little TN River on Sunday or Monday after spending the weekend at Fort London.

The Little TN River is one of several headwater rivers that combine to make the TN River. We plan to stay on the hook for a night or two once we get to the Chilhowee Dam - the farthest point on the Little TN River and located in the foothills of the Great Smokey Mountains.

I’ll post some pictures. The terrain is changing into mostly rock outcroppings. Beautiful!
