Early start to the day and a late end. Underway at 0730 and arrived in Joliet at 1700 hrs. 30 miles in 10+ hours! It’s a slow ride. However, going through Downtown Chicago in your own boat was really cool! The Chicago River south of downtown and the Illinois River are heavily industrial and not very scenic. We’re on the free wall (no fee dockage with power but no shore water) in Joliet with 16 other Looper boats. Aside from the very slow pace everything else is going well.

Tomorrow were underway at 0630. One lock today and two tomorrow. I already miss the blue water and open space of the Great Lakes!

I have already checked down the engine room for tomorrow. Everything ran fine.
