We’ve decided to move from Harbor Springs on Friday. We’re going to Fayette, MI, about 100 miles west of HS and on the northern shore of Lake Michigan just east of Escanaba, MI. From there we’ll begin working our way into the Bay of Green Bay and a stop at Green Bay. We need to travel this route because my mother is in failing health and it’s important to see her. That means our trip to Chicago will be on the western shore of Lake Michigan (Wisconsin side) verses the Michigan side of the lake. At this time we’ve established reservations at Fayette, MI Egg Harbor, and Green Bay, WI.

Our time in Harbor Springs has been fabulous! Great weather (although it’s supposed to be a high of 68’ on Thursday!) and a great time coming to our second home. Some trees are already changing into fall colors but the sun is hot and low humidity makes it “Chamber of Commerce” weather. In fact, today we took the boat out for the day, dropped a hook in the bay and snorkeled! Water temp was 70’ - warm by northern Michigan standards! I posted photos on Sunday of the weather front that came through on Sunday. We had a little rain but very high winds. The winds reminded me of last year and the end of our boating season. It’s too early for that this year!

We’re headed to the Little Traverse Yacht Club for dinner tonight - fresh lake perch! More about our traveling plans later. BTW - the electronic gremlin seems to have been fixed.
