About a 15 mile trip up the Door County Peninsula is Sister Bay. Another one of those neatly tucked-in bays on the bay of Green Bay side of the peninsula. With an expansive north- northwestwardly view, this little bay has all of the charm of Egg Harbor but at water level instead of from a bluff. As we docked we were greeted by the dockhand and our dock mates who eagerly mentioned there was a Green Bay Packer game today and encouraged us to watch the game from a sports bar across the street from the marina. The sports bar was the famous Al Johnson’s, a Swedish place where goats graze on grass roofs! Well, since we are new to town we felt it was our duty to attend this affair. Soon after arriving we were a part of the crowd enjoying local craft beer and cheering on the Packers. Too bad their defense collapsed in the fourth quarter like the Atlanta Falcons often do and the Packers settled for an overtime tie.

Interruption - need to go to dinner now. Admiral made reservations at Lure. Rest of the story and review to follow. Also, need to make the crossing back to MI tomorrow before weather window closes. From Sister Bay it’s 104 miles to Harbor Springs. We may stop in Leland if the window stays open for another day. More later.

Back from dinner - best Whitefish I’ve had since being in WI! The Lure restaurant is located a short distance up a hill from the marina. Evidently the Lure, the Barrington in Fish Creek,, and another local restaurant are all related. Food and service was outstanding.

We’ll be leaving in the morning and heading back toward MI. Looks like the long expected but pushed off cold front will be moving through this area beginning Monday afternoon. NOAA forecasts 2-4’ seas from the s/w. While the height is not desirable, the direction is generally trailing which should be manageable and fuel efficient. We’re targeting a return to Harbor Springs with a bail out at Leland. We will our next destination once we return to HS. Maybe a run to Mackinac Island for a couple of days or Leland. There are still good boating days left on the Great Lakes and we’re bound to find and use them!
