Tomorrow (Friday) we’ll begin our homeward journey to home port. Each day will be divided into 70-mile increments which should equate to 4-5 hour runs. Our heat wave should be abating tomorrow and none too soon. I over-worked myself the other day and have been moving slowly and staying in the a/c as much as possible. Today we went into the town of Grand Rivers, KY for provisions and lunch. Cute little town and one in which you can walk easily from one end to the other.

Loopers continue to trickle into the marina all with a shell-shocked look of battle fatigue. I’ve yet to find someone who is willing to do the Illinois and Mississippi Rivers again! In the meantime, people are talking about the next phase of their lives; us included. On the immediate horizon is to get home to Atlanta and tend to our regularly scheduled doctors' appointments, home maintenance schedules, and re-establish our dirt lifestyle. Hopefully the cars will start! It’s amazing how much energy today’s car uses just when they’re sitting. Thanksgiving is just around the corner and the family will be back in town - that’s always a lot of fun. The boat will have to have its regular schedule maintenance, too. And I need to finish changing out the old batteries. Meant To Be has been a wonderful cruising boat for us. We like a “go fast” boat because unlike a trawler or other “go slow” style boat we can go both fast and slow!
