Up at 0600 hrs, underway at 0815, go to the fuel dock to top off fuel and pump out and guess what - the fuel dock has gone to late summer hours and doesn’t open until 0900! Oh well, we waited a few minutes and got our business taken of while admiring a 217’ yacht docked at the municipal dock by the name of Hampshire. Quite an impressive ship. Look at the photos.

Our ~100 mile run was uneventful, 2-4’ quartering seas that became flatter the farther west we went and entered in Big Bay de Noc up to Fayette. Fayette is an abandoned town, a ghost town that was once one of the busiest towns and port in the UP of Michigan. The state DNR purchased the town and is the process of restoring the buildings which, BTW, are open 24/7 for touring. We’ll walk the town tomorrow and let you know more about its history and restoration.

Meanwhile I’ve landed a sinus infection that has dropped my voice to the level of Barry White as I sneeze and blow my nose like a steam locomotive!

The weather her has turned cooler with the lows in the upper 40’s. We wore sweatshirts all day today. Lake temp was 66-68’. More tomorrow.
