Poor internet connection caused my post yesterday to be lost in cyberspace. I’ll try again tonight. We traveled Sunday from Lakefield to Bobcaygeon through rain, fog, and shallow, narrow and rock filled waters. It was probably the most navigationally challenging part of our journey thus far.

The forecast for today was more rain and we thought it was better to rest for a day. Our next leg would either be 15 miles or 50 miles. The marina at the 15-mile leg would not have been able to accommodate us until 1800 hrs. Too late in my book. The 50-mile leg seemed too daunting after Sunday’s travels. Instead, we laid low, did some laundry, took a nap, and then walked to town and enjoyed this little cottage community. We had heard about Bigley’s, a local shoe, clothing and home furnishings store so we went to check it out. Guess what? We found some things!

This is area is a nice, little community that is walkable from one to the other. The rain held off until dinner time as we were eating out under an umbrella here at the marina.

I registered for remote re-entry back to the USA tonight. If things go right, we should back in the USA in about 5 days or so. It will be a long day tomorrow, expecting to be underway at 0800 hrs. It’s 12 miles to the first lock and we’re planning to go 50 miles tomorrow.
