Not too dissimilar from living on dirt, a boat needs to be maintained and things do break down - usually at the most inopportune time. Yesterday it was the shower box sump pump switch. While mopping the exterior of the boat following the rains, I heard water being discharged near the starboard (right side) bow. Knowing the a/c discharge is starboard near the stern I was curious what could be causing the discharge. I pulled out the boat schematics and learned the forward bilge pump discharges at the area where I heard the water. So I investigated the forward bilge. Ah ha, water in the bilge below the shower box. Now to determine whether the issue is the pump switch or the pump itself. After a quick call to my buddy and trusted electrician, Rodney, a couple of wires were cut and “hot-wired” - the problem was the switch. Now one would think it would be easy to find a replacement switch in such a marine intense town as PCB - well it isn’t! West Marine had none in stock here, but they had 12 in Destin! To make a long story short, I ordered a switch to be expressed mailed to me. I should have it tomorrow. In the meantime, we’ll use the aft shower.

The weather here is cool today - high to be in the low 70’s. I think we’ll go for a cruise around and check the scenery from a water view perspective.
