We got up early this morning to a fairly clear sky and a steadily building west wind. Exiting the harbor wasn’t an issue until we entered the Straits where 3 - 4’ waves were rolling through. I turned to meet them head on and powered up as spray from the waves covered the bow and helm. Once we got out of the Straits were the waves able to subside and then we picked up our speed for the approach into Cheboygan. Walstrom Marine is located well into the the canal / Cheboygan River from Lake Huron, just before the bascule bridge. We backed into our slip and within moments we were greeted by help taking lines and getting us tied up. Within the hour we had Dana on board beginning the prep work for the radar install. By 1630 hrs the job had been completed! We have radar again!!

Now we need to find the next place to go! Alpena then Tobermory? We’ll see. Stay tuned. It’s time for a celebratory cocktail!
