Just got in to NPB after running the outside. Weather conditions cooperated and we had 2-3 ft quartering and trailing seas. The 70-mile run burned 100 gal. I’ll do the math later. I looked at running the inside, but it looks to be a serious hassle. So many slow zones and bridges. Clearing Miami inlet this.AM was fun with a flowing tide (we were running against it going out!). Five footers breaking over the bow and totally drenching the boat. And I wondered if I would ever use the wipers! Once we were clear of the inlet seas settled down and MTB settled in for the ride. We had made alternative plans in case sea conditions worsened but cancelled them when we were about six miles out from Hillsboro inlet. The North Atlantic Ocean is very deep close into shore. We were only three miles offshore and in 470’ of water! It’s a lot different from the Gulf side of the peninsula. The Gulf Stream was only a few more miles to our east. Tempting to run it but thought better of it.

We’re in NPB for five days. We’ll stay here until Tuesday after Memorial Day and let the locals traverse the waterways and hopefully dodge this tropical depression that’s building in the western Caribbean.

BTW, Tiger Woods’ yacht Privacy, is tied up a couple of docks over from us. Word is he brought it in himself. Evidently, this is a big PGA hangout. Good thing I brought our clubs!
