We were rocked awake at 0400 today by early morning fishing boats heading out for the day and decided to get up and get an early start to get ahead of a weather front that was to bring northerly winds and produce 6-10 ft seas. By 0600 we were pulling away from the dock and entered the ocean to face four-foot waves meeting the outflowing tide. After pushing our way through that I set a course outward to the farthest point to the Delaware Bay and settled into 3-4 ft seas at ~8 seconds. Not a bad ride, first to beam then stern as we made the waypoint but a lot of up and down. Again, we had the ocean to ourselves. As we neared Atlantic City, we got caught in a rain shower which helped rinse off some of the salt spray. Our marina, Farley State Park, is very close to the inlet and adjacent to the Golden Nugget casino. We were in our slip by 1130 hrs! It was about an 85-mile run; burned 110 gallons of fuel.

We washed the boat and the predicted thunderstorms have begun to rumble through. BTW - forecasted lows tonight: 60’! We have taken our showers and will now get out and explore. Need some food provisions and must check out the casinos.

One of the things we’re experiencing with greater frequency is the lack of adequate Internet service. My post from Hampton was lost due to a break in connection. Cell phone service, however, has been consistently good. But since we’re using the cell service as our Internet, I’ve got to be mindful of the data usage. I have a bunch of pictures to post and will do so as soon as I can via our cell service, but I'll post more when I have sufficient bandwidth. Maybe in NYC? So be sure to go through the photos because I could have loaded something new from a prior date.

We’re here until Sunday, weather permitting. Looking forward to a little more sleep and seeing the local scenery.
