We can see the final lock of the Trent Severn Waterway from our marina tonight. About a 35 mile run today through more twists and turns and the famous train lock: Big Chute! At Big Chute you’re loaded into a travel-lift sling and moved over a road via a rail and pulley system. Absolutely incredible! We got to the marina on the edge of a thunderstorm and decided to tie up rather than fuel up. We’ll put fuel on in the AM before we leave the TSW and head into Georgian Bay. I’ll check out weather conditions for the day tomorrow as well as go over nav charts, etc. This area and Georgian Bay is a granite filled area and rock outcroppings are commonplace.

I think the course will be to Tobermorey, ON then Drummond Island, MI where we’ll check in with US Customs and Board Patrol. Appears there’s a low front over western ON and Lake Superior that could affect our weather / winds for the next couple of days. Stay tuned.
