After settling into IVY Club yesterday, the Admiral did laundry and I thoroughly washed the boat. We refueled, pumped out, and filled with potable water for the next leg. Last evening the club had a limited menu for dinner - chicken wings and sliders! I went for the combo! Let me say the people at IVY Club were the consummate hosts!  People went out of their way to say hello and welcome us.

We met Susan and Greg from Massachusetts who, coincidentally have a Tiara, and it seems our travel timeline is very similar. Our intention was to travel to Bar Island, just south of Beardstown, drop a hook and spend the night. They mentioned the idea about tying up to a barge at Logsdon Tug in Beardstown. Neat idea since flood watches have been posted for the Illinois River (and others). So, we departed this morning at 0745 in a light rain following overnight thunderstorms. Not too far away was a clearing sky and very warm temps. We cruised about 80 miles today in a little under 8 hours, traveling at slightly more than 11 mph @ 1350 rpm with a fuel burn of 4.5 - 5 gph - the fuel gauge has barely budged! So here we are at Logsdon Tug, tied up to a barge running the generator in lovely Beardstown, IL.

We’re here for a night. Need to catch the lock early and make it to Alton, IL, about 100 miles downstream. Heavy weather is due in tonight, tomorrow night and Sunday. Need to make tracks.
