Last Friday, March 29th, we had the privilege of presenting our Great Loop Adventure to the Rotary Club of Alpharetta. Background for this invitation is as coincidental as life itself. While attending the Christmas party for the Peach State Cadillac and LaSalle Club in December, we ran into a friend from Rivermont Golf & CC. He was attending the Peach State party as the guest of a Cadillac owner whom we had met the year before at the Classic Car Show at Rivermont. The fellow Cadillac owner, Rob Johns, asked what we had been up to....obviously, we told him about the "Loop". He was really interested in our trip and asked if we would present to the Rotary club of which he is a member. "Sure thing", I said. We coordinated a date / time and I spent the past three months working to condense an exciting, 4,000 NM, 6 month trip into 20 PowerPoint slides and 15 minutes! Well, after many editions, revisions, and critiques from friends we delivered an interesting, informative, and engaging presentation (as we have been told!).

I am so grateful for the offer (and challenge). It was fun to relive our travels and it was fun to tell an audience of 100 people or so about our trip. Their attention was focused, their questions outstanding, and their engagement full. I would do this again if given the opportunity! In the meantime, I'm trying to figure out how I can post the PP presentation. Stay tuned.

Meanwhile, we're entering countdown mode to return to the boat. Our marina in Harbor Springs has indicated a splash date of April 25th. They'll need a week's time to re-commission the boat and then we'll return. We're both anxious to return to the water. We'll spend the next couple of weeks settling in on our itinerary for the summer. More to come on that.

We're expecting Looper visitors from Quebec to visit us in ATL before we get away. Pierre and Renee are due in here around Easter. Stay tuned!

PS. It's fun to resume writing in the blog again!
