A cold front moved through Wednesday night and Thursday dropping temps and humidity. It’s now in the upper 50’s with an expected high of 74’!

We continue to focus on the Chicago River / Illinois River leg of our trip. We have now learned that from 10 September to 21 September, the locks will operate 24/7. Thereafter, the locks will be closed for three weeks. This timing puts our intended plans of being in Chicago around Labor Day back in play. In the meantime, we’re planning to drive to Hessel, MI tomorrow to see the antique wooden boat show. We’ll meet up with John and Angela, the couple whom we met in Hessel back in May. Next week we plan to play a little golf and eat some home cooked blueberry pie from the House of Pies! This area of northern MI is in full swing. Pedestrian and vehicle traffic is as busy as we have ever seen it. Local retailers are reporting a great summer season. Walstrom sales folks also report strong sales activity.

We’re still contending with an electronic gremlin affecting our port engine and will need to Walstrom in HS to figure it out once and for all.
