Everything on the home front appears to be good. The house is in good shape as we open more things and re-establish our dirt lifestyle. The only issue discovered thus far has been my desktop computer - apparently the hard drive has died and I am unable to “reboot” the computer. I’m not going to invest too much time trying to address or resolve this issue now, there’ll be plenty of time to do this once we get the boat back to Chattanooga and we return home for good. Our immediate plan is to drop off a car in Chattanooga today so to avoid renting a one-way car rental next week. This will allow us to also check our new security code at the marina.

I want to provide an update on my mother. We had her moved to the skilled care unit at Heritage about 3 - 4 weeks ago. I spoke to her yesterday. She is alert and conversant, and her pain management seems to be under control although she mentioned she was feeling pain in her hands. She is not mobile and is pretty much confined to her bed except for bathroom time and bathing. The prognosis Is a slow deterioration of the body and its functions due to inactivity. Physical therapy is difficult to perform because of the pain caused by the stenosis. I think I had previously mentioned that her timeframe was about 90 days and 60 days have past since that prediction. No one knows exactly how this will play out time wise. Our goal is to keep her as pain free as possible.

Meanwhile I’ll call the marina Aqua Harbor this afternoon and check on the status. Rain is pushing through the south and cooler temps with it. Weather looks acceptable for traveling Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
