We’re back home in Atlanta! Got home last night. But it wasn’t easy. We had made reservations with Enterprise Car Rental, got a confirmation number and we’re all set to pick up a car at noon, right? Not so fast! We received a telephone call at 1000 hrs informing us they hadn’t a car for us. Huh? We made a reservation, Enterprise confirmed it, gave us a “confirmation” number but no cars? Reminded me of the Jerry Seinfeld episode where he too, had made a reservation but got no car. Evidently Enterprise can take a reservation, they can’t hold a reservation. So much of what we live through on the boat are logistics - planning to be at a place at a certain time, etc. because so many other things are dependent on that one initial action. Thus began the scramble to find a viable alternative. Fortunately, Hertz had recently opened an office in Corinth, MS, right next door to Enterprise! We were able get a car from Hertz albeit 4 hours later, but we made it home late last night.

The conditions at the home front appear to be really good. The yard looks good, the summer flowers survived but look long in the tooth, and the cars started this morning! I had put plastic wrap over the toilet bowls to prevent / reduce evaporation and all the bowls were full of water! Neat trick!

We’ll go to the grocery this morning and restock the house. In the meantime, Aqua Harbor has their work orders, and we should be back to the boat next Thursday for the last 250 miles to Chattanooga.
