We’ve been in Norfolk, VA this week attending the spring Looper’s conference. This material covered the northern half from the Chesapeake to the Tn Tom. Spring is just beginning to break in the VA, MD, NJ, NY region so from a timing perspective we don’t need to be in NY harbor until late May / early June. The northern route looks magnificent. Don’t know yet if we will travel the Rideau Canal and the Trent Severn but the route looks incredible. The Erie Canal to Lake Erie is also an option but a low fixed bridge clearance may preclude that route.

Once we return to the boat we’ll move to Naples. From there we’re headed to Marathon Key and Faro Blanco marina. Anticipating being in Miami Beach for Memorial Day weekend. The eastern seaboard does not look too appealing once you get to NJ. So, the focus will be to move up eastern FL fairly quickly, touching base in Hilton Head and Charleston. Problem is you can’t look too far ahead but also need to keep an eye on a schedule. The Chesapeake area looks fascinating. Should be able to get close into DC and Philadelphia.

Met some great folks from Quebec and Ontario, Canada and saw some familiar faces from the fall conference in AL.
